• Nebula v2.15a:
This updates for you lux, as the ROM problems you were having with Oriental Legends should now be resolved Also, Sengoku 3 and Zupapa have been officially added, here's hoping that this trend will carry over to WinKawaks Anyways, here's the list of everything that's changed:
- PGM
- Fixed Knights of valour missing platform and bridges in some stages.
- Some rom renamings. To match mame names
- sango1 -> kov
- sango1_5 -> kov115
- sango1_9 -> kovplus
- orlegend -> orlegend (the same)
- orleg112 -> orlegnde
- orleg12e -> orlegndc
- Fixed china and taiwan regions swapped in KOV
- NEOGEO
- GENERAL
- PGM resolution is very wide, so if it's cut in the screen, play a bit with stretch options till you can get it fitting.
You can find it on our
Downloads page.

• Nebula v2.15:
Hats off to El Semi for doing it yet again, this time around he presents both a new game as well as sound emulation for the PGM system! While the latter is still incomplete, this is definately awesome news! Here's the complete breakdown on what's new:
- PGM
- Added Knights of Valour and Knights of Valour Plus
(see KOVROMS.TXT for the correct roms CRC and sizes). Special thanks to BillyJr for his help to get this game running.
- Added Sound emulation. Well, it's not complete emulation, but it's enough go get sounds working. Only SFX works and some sounds may be wrong.
- Added region switch to orlegend and kov
- Fixed orlegend crashes.
- NOTE: PGM games have a very wide resolution so double size modes (scanlines and most image enhancement modes) require resolutions higher than 800x600 to work properly with no stretch.
- GENERAL
You will find it on our
Downloads page.

• Official CPS1Mame for DC released:
Thats right, a official release of CPS1Mame for Dreamcast has been compiled by Sisei (the original author) himself. You can download the .elf from his site! Later on, the DCEmulation staff will convert this elf file to bin format and upload it to the Unofficial American Mame For DC site later tonight.
UPDATE, again from DCEmulation:

This version seems to run many games well and screen positioning is perfect. However, only the D-Pad works, the buttons A, B, X, and Y do not work. Let's hope there is a fix soon. |

Official CPS1Mame for DC beta released: While not totally CPS2 related, I thought this was cool. Here's a cool little tidbit from the people at DCEmulation:

 |
| |
| |
Since this project is on hold for a little while, I have decided to release the first beta of the CPS1MAME emulator for Dreamcast. Currently, many games work and frameskip is implemented. However, screen positioning is a bit off on most games, and more importantly, most games freeze at some point in the game. This release only supports 2 controllers, with only 2/4 buttons working on each controller. |

• More CPS2 boards on the way:
Great news from will (one of the top CPS2 board donators), assuring us that donations have not stopped. Just Incase you missed the post on
Retrogames, here's the goods:

Donations have not stopped either. I found 2 more rare USA boards (roms not even dumped yet) which I sent to Raz but they are not listed on the donations page because I want them kept secret for now. Once I get the boards back and get them sold you'll find out what they are. Don't bother asking me what they are unless you want to help me pay for shipping costs. This is all coming out of my own pocket.
I have 2 more USA boards to send after that, one is a much newer revision of an already xor'd game (which I think will come as a bit of a surprise) and the other is a year 2000 game which hasn't even been dumped yet. |
|
| |
 |
| |
So what are my predictions? Well, since Mega Man 2 (USA Blue) has been removed from
CPS2Shock's wanted list, I'd say that would be a good guess for starters Feel free to post your thoughts and ideas on our
Forums.

• Nebula v2.14a:
El Semi is definately the busiest man in emulation! Check out what's new in his latest offering:
- CPS1
- Fixed loops in some drivers (cworld2j, qad and qtono2) that were causing the rom scanning crash
- Fixed high music speed in sf2 and captcomm
- Added the missing CPS1 drivers (thanks to mike_haggar)
- PGM
- Fixed the memory corruption bug in orlegend (aka infinite lives bug)
- Fixed zooming (it was reversed, making zoom effect backwards
)
- Fixed screen cut with some blitters.
- CPS2
- Re-adjusted timing again, now some games are smoother (especially ssf2t)
- GENERAL
- Added Force feedback support, using tables. I've included 2 sampe tables (xmvsf.ht2 and mvsc.ht2). Read the comments in them to know how to make your own tables.
- Added a control layout load/save feature to save your favourite layouts. I've included some layouts for keyboard, 6 button pads and hotrod (thanks Crashtest).
- Fixed errors when changing DSP plugins while the game was running.
- Fixed a small bug in the winamp wrapper plugin. Now more winamp DSP plugins work.
- Added an HyperBass DSP plugin.
- Fixed Keep aspect video option. To get a clean scanlines Image (no stretch distortion), I recommend using 800x600 with no stretch.
- Added 3 new gfx blitters. Bilinear interpolators, that override the older Full and light interpolation ones. The effect is the same, but they are twice faster.
You can get this new version on our
Downloads page.

There seem to be a Win98SE problem with the new buttons. I try to find a workaround now... Before switching to a new compiler I give you ClrMamePro 2.63. Changeable buttonbar, "remove all incomplete sets" options, md5/crc32 calculation tool...etc... |

Stay tuned for 2.63a

• Nebula v2.13a:
El Semi has updated his emu to be up to par with Kawaks new K Blitter and Auto-Transparencies options. Here's a complete list of what's new:
- NEOGEO
- CPS1
- CPS2
- Improved CPU timing. That makes SSF2T/SSF2X smoother.
- Fixed SSF2X driver (no more gfx or sound problems)
- PGM
- GENERAL
- Added SuperScale blitter (similar to a *Scale blitter of other CPS2 emu
). It looks great and it's very fast (if not the fastest) image enhancement mode. Full source included. The best blitter in nebula without any doubt. It only works in 16-bit desktop modes.
- Added auto-transparencies. It will make flickering objects and meshes become transparent without blur. The 50% frame blend blitter is no longer needed. Unlike sprite transparencies, this will cause a performance hit, so better don't enable it if you have a slow computer.
- Fixed full interpolation mode.
You can get the new version on our
Downloads page.

• (Asia) set now parent ROMset:
Just thought I'd post about this nice little tidbit I found, since it seems as if all the changes to the
CPS2Shock Game List as of late have been altering the old parent (Japan) sets to the new (Asia) parent set. This currently affects Capcom Sports Club and Battle Ciruit, and in the near future SFZ2a. So what's so important about this you ask? Well, that just means you won't have to change a region switch to play the game in English anymore. Now only if MHz would have changed the Hide Redundant option in Kawaks.....
• Four new XORs:
New XORs today by
CPS2Shock, what a great way to start the month Here's the list:
- Night Warriors (USA 950406)
- Vampire Hunter (Japan 950316)
- Vampire Hunter (Japan 950302)
- Dungeons & Dragons (Hispanic 940125)
You can grab em on our
Downloads page, and thanx to lux_92886 for the wakeup call this morn
• WinKawaks v1.43:
Happy day happy day, a new release of my fav emu!!! It has the usual support for today's new drivers, along with a couple of new blitters and a fixed ShumaGorath's Chaos dimension Here's the complete list of what's new:
- Added Bang Bead
- Added Night Warriors: Darkstalkers Revenge (US 950406)
- Added Vampire Hunter: Darkstalkers Revenge (Japan 950316)
- Added Vampire Hunter: Darkstalkers Revenge (Japan 950302)
- Added Dungeons and Dragons: Tower of Doom (Hispanic 940125)
- New "KScale" blitter. This is a new edge
enhancement blitter with zero blur. It's also insanely fast compared to the traditionnal 2xSai/Super2xSai/SuperEagle. Comes in 4 variations: Plain, and 25%/50%/75% scanlines.
- Shiny new "Smart Interframe blending" mode. (MMX and non MMX versions) This new blending mode replaces all flickers (Samurai Shodown 4 life bars, King of Fighters shadows, etc ...) by transparencies; and the rest of the picture retains all its sharpness (no blurry scrollings)
- Made it so interframeblending occurs before the video processing stage (speed boost)
- New keyboard shortcut : Alt+B toggles between Interblending modes
- New sound option : Low pass filter
- Fixed ShumaGorath's Chaos dimension in Marvel Super Heroes
- Rewrote Kaillera support. Now, emu will accept to run if you don't have Kailleraclient.dll, and noone should see Kaillera errors on startup anymore.
- Sound logging option now saves a WAV, not a RAW
- Ctrl Numpad + and Ctrl Numpad - now control volume
- Fixed Cheater support
- Minor changes to Batcirc & Csclub to accommodate the latest CPS2 conventions
- Changed driver for NeoPong to use NeoPong 1.1 roms instead
You can grab it on our
Downloads page.
• CPS2Mame v2.591 :
Raz also updated his CPS2 only version of MAME to support these four new titles, you can grab it as well on our
Downloads page.
