• ACE no more: friol is throwing in the towel for his little known emu, Ace. Below is the update off of the homepage:

  Quote.....

The ace project is no more. After nine months of developement I had an hd crash and I lost the latest sources of the emulator, and with that I lost also interest in going further with this stuff. I think that the good ole days when five cps2 emulators where "fighting" for the best features are gone for good. What remains is the last public release of the code and the latest binary. And there's also a little present for you (put it in the "romdata" directory and you can play super gem fighter in ace!).
So long, and thanks for all the fish - friol signin' off.

I updated the last released version of the archive to include the "new" present, you will find it on our Downloads page.

• Puzz Loop 2 Qsound ROMs upped to ABEM: Raz has upped the above mentioned ROMs to ABEM, hurry up and get em while ya can. Now where's the rest of the set?
- cyrussd

• SF Zero 2 Alpha (Asia) returned: This board has embarked on it's final journey back home to it's donator, and thus I updated it's status on our Game List.
- cyrussd

• Nebula v2.19: El Semi has pioneered yet another emulation feat, and as always, has emerged victorious! With great happiness I would like to announce the new version of Nebula, with MVS multislot emulation! Here's the complete list of what's changed for this version:

  • PGM

    • Added Dragon World 2 (it has some gfx glitches due to some missing parts in the protection emulation)
    • Text layer should now be correctly aligned (it was 1 line too high)

  • CPS2

    • Fixed ssf2xj timing that was still wrong.

  • NEOGEO

    • Fixed small autoanimation problems
    • Added neogeo multislot MVS emulation.

Usage: in the rom loading screen, you'll see a dropbox to select in which neogeo slot you want to load the game. Just select the slot and hit load, then after loading a game, you can go and load another in a different (or the same, overriding it) slot. Note that you'll need a lot of RAM to hold all games in memory at the same time. To switch from game to game, use the button mapped as Button 5 in the input options (default key 0) The current bios supports 4 game slots. The default bios config only allows to switch games after inserting a coin. To change it, press F2, go to "set the soft dips", then "setting the cabinet", and change "Game selection" to "Free". Using savestates with multislot games may have unpredictable results.

ALWAYS LOAD IN THE 1ST SLOT FIRST.

You will find this new version on our Downloads page.

• Sound SIMMs successfully dumped: Xacrow has done it once again, and thus has dumped even more of Puzz Loop 2 (Japan 010205). Another two ROMs however still need to be dumped before we have the complete working set. Definately good news though, keep up the good work

• X-Men COTA (Asia) arrived and dumped: This board has finally completed it's journey to CPS2Shock, and Raz was nice enough to dump it as well. Now all we have to do is wait for him to up it to ABEM so we can actually grab a copy of it I updated our Game List with the above info.

• Nebula Jukebox v2.4: Along side today's updated Nebula, El Semi has also released a new version of his audio jukebox. Here's what's changed:

  • Fixed PGM sound volume.
  • Now neogeo supports playing sound effects (I finally found the old Neojukebox code

You will find it on our Downloads page.
- cyrussd

• Nebula v2.18b: El Semi has released another version of his emu, and yet again KOF 2001 and Metal Slug4 ARE LOCKED OUT. Keeping that in mind, here's what else is new:

  • CPS1

    • Fixed slow music in some games(megaman/rockman, pang3)

  • NEOGEO

    • Fixed z80 timing, noticeable in long samples (Dandy J stage in wakuwak7)

  • GENERAL

    • Switched memory card format to a MAME compatible one, now you can use them in Nebula and MAME.
    • I've had to change the locking policy again. I've been contacted about the legal problems that having those games enabled could have, so I had to definitely lock them again and they will remain locked till those games are 1 year old. I'm sorry for the inconvenience this have caused, and encourage all emulation sites that have the 2.18a package that overwrite it with this. I hope you understand that I don't like to be involved in legal problems and that I don't like to see nebula discontinued.

You will find this new version on our Downloads page.
- cyrussd

• Calice 0.6.4: David has released a new version of his emu adding support the controversial NeoGeo game KOF 2001, as well as support for Sengoku 3 and the homebrewed ROM Neo no panepon. You will find it on our Downloads page.

Monday, July 8, 2002

• Nebula v2.18a: El Semi has re-thought his descision on locking out the recent NeoGeo games, and has therefore re-added support for them! Looks like there's no need for v2.17 anymore Here's the complete list of what's new:

  • NEOGEO

    • Fixed mslug3nd driver crashing nebula.
    • Fixed kof99d driver. now it loads the decrypted C roms instead of the prototype roms.

  • GENERAL

    • Well, seeing the general reaction, I've decided to not to impose my personal ethics to everybody by locking the games I wish, also avoiding people that legally can play them (own the Roms) could play. So I've added a disclaimer that you must accept if you agree with all the points to be legally entitled to use nebula.

Sounds good to me Grab it from our Downloads page.

    • Fixed some wrong objects in KOV.

  • CPS1

  • NEOGEO

    • Fixed garou select button

    • Fixed KOF94 Japan stage intro.
    • Recent neogeo games have been locked. You should go to an arcade if you want to play them.
    • Fixed kof2knd C7 rom (seems that only I had that rom)
    • Added an additional sengoku3 romset for the new P1 (it's not clear what's the correct one).
    • ND romsets no longer use the encrypted P roms, they are fully decrypted.
